PHS Rotary Ring Stretch Wrapper

A high speed ring wrapper for continuous production. The film ring travels around a stationary pallet at up to 80 pallets an hour, and uses less film than a turntable or rotary arm machine because the cycle can start and finish anywhere on the load.

The load stays still and the film goes around it

On a turntable the pallet spins. On a ring wrapper the pallet stays where it is on the conveyor and a ring carrying the film roll travels around it. Nothing on the pallet is asked to survive being spun, which is what makes it the right machine for light, tall or awkward loads.

The rotating assembly is deliberately low in mass. Less weight in motion means less wear, and that is what lets the machine run continuously rather than in bursts.

It can start and finish anywhere on the load

Most wrappers have to begin and end the cycle at the bottom of the pallet, so film goes on in places that do not need it. The ring can start and stop at any height, which means the wrap pattern matches the load rather than the machine.

That is where the film saving comes from, on top of pre-stretch. On a line running around the clock, film is a cost that turns up in the accounts every single week.

Where it fits

  • High throughput palletising

Keeps up with a fast palletiser so the wrapper never becomes the bottleneck at the end of the line.

  • Around the clock production

Specified for continuous duty rather than batches, which is where the low mass rotating assembly earns its money.

  • Light and unstable loads

The pallet is never rotated, so tall, light or loosely stacked loads are not disturbed while they are being wrapped.

  • High film consumption sites

Where film is a significant running cost, the ability to start and finish anywhere on the load adds up quickly.

Tell us what you are wrapping

A ring wrapper costs more than a turntable machine, and on a single shift line it is often more than you need. Tell us your throughput and we will give you a straight answer about which one to buy.
