PHS 4-Way Shuttle

Store deep without the aisles a forklift needs. The PHS 4-Way Shuttle travels along and across your racking, carries up to 2 tonnes, and comes in a cold store build rated to minus 25 degrees. Built with Globl, specified and supported by our own engineers.

  • 2.0 tMax payload
  • −25°CCold store build
  • 2 sLift and turn
  • ±2 mmPositioning
  • 6–8 hPer charge

It moves in both directions, so your racking does not have to

High and low rails let the shuttle run along or across the rack and change rails on the spot. It reaches any location on a level without a transfer car and without the aisles a forklift needs.

Polyurethane wheels keep it quiet and stop it jumping the rail, and barcode positioning holds it to within two millimetres.

Specified for the freezer, not adapted to it

The cold store version is rated from minus 25 to zero degrees, so it works in a hard-frozen store rather than a chiller. Charging is contactless, which matters at these temperatures because there are no exposed contacts to ice up or corrode.

It also takes people out of the coldest part of your operation. The shuttle stays in the rack and the pallets come to the door.

Six to eight hours of work, then it charges itself

Lithium iron phosphate batteries give a full shift on a charge and last two thousand cycles. Below twenty percent the control system sends the shuttle to charge on its own, so nobody has to plan around it.

Obstacle radar on all four sides, pallet presence and tilt detection, sleep mode between tasks, and a charge-level light strip you can read from the floor.

Where it earns its keep

  • Cold and frozen storage

Hold more pallets in the space you already refrigerate, and keep people out of the freezer.

  • Food and beverage

High volumes of uniform pallets, first in first out, with full traceability on every movement.

  • Deep lane bulk storage

Deep lanes without the aisles. Density rises without extending the building.

  • Buffer and dispatch

Stage outbound loads in sequence so trucks are turned around faster.

Why we build it with Globl

Globl built the world’s first four-way pallet shuttle in 2012 and has spent the years since refining it, with 97 patents behind the current range and three manufacturing sites covering more than ninety thousand square metres.

The shuttle arrives in PHS colours because we specify it, commission it and support it. You deal with our engineers in New Zealand and Australia, not with a factory on the other side of the world.

We have already done this at minus 25 degrees

PHS Innovate delivered the lights-out, hypoxic frozen distribution centre for Foodstuffs South Island in Hornby, Christchurch, running at minus 25 degrees with high-density pallet storage and SAP integration. Cold store automation is not new ground for us.
